Indian Sunflower Seeds – Grow Tall, Bright Blooms for Your Garden or Farm

Indian sunflower is a hardy, fast-growing variety known for its tall plants and vibrant yellow blooms. Sunflowers are easy to grow, attract pollinators, and can be cultivated in most parts of India. This variety is suitable for home gardens, borders, terrace pots, and even small-scale farming for seeds or ornamental use.

Sow the seeds directly into well-drained soil with full sunlight exposure. Choose a location with good air circulation and rich soil mixed with compost or manure. Sow the seeds about one inch deep with 12 to 18 inches spacing between plants and at least 2 feet between rows if sown in larger beds. Germination occurs within 6 to 10 days.

Water the plants regularly during the initial growth phase. Once established, sunflowers are drought-tolerant but benefit from deep watering once or twice a week. Avoid water stagnation. Apply compost every 20 to 25 days for better flowering. Plants begin flowering in 60 to 75 days and produce large blooms that can last for several weeks.

Indian sunflower is ideal for decorative gardens, farm edges, school gardens, and balcony planters. The seeds may also attract birds and can be harvested once the flower heads dry.
