Chakravarthy Keerai is a traditional Indian green leafy vegetable valued for its medicinal properties and rich iron content. Sow the seeds directly into well-drained, fertile soil enriched with organic compost.


Prepare the soil by loosening it and removing weeds. Sow the seeds about a quarter to half an inch deep, keeping 6 to 8 inches spacing between plants. Lightly cover with soil and water gently. Germination takes about 5 to 8 days depending on weather conditions.


Water regularly to keep the soil moist but not soggy. Apply organic manure every 15 to 20 days to promote healthy growth. Tender leaves can be harvested from 25 to 30 days onwards. Regular harvesting of outer leaves encourages regrowth and prolonged yield.
